??Fostering Unity and Innovation in Humanitarian Technology!?? At the AM3 of the IEEE Microwave Theory & Technology Society in Cagliari, Italy, the IEEE MTT-S SIGHT committee took pride in commemorating our shared vision with a special gesture: the distribution of custom-made IEEE MTT-S SIGHT T-shirts. These T-shirts represent more than just our logo—they symbolize the spirit of collaboration and dedication driving our mission forward. The T-shirts were proudly showcased by our esteemed SIGHT Co-Chairs, Dr. Chinmoy Saha and Dr.Imran Mehdi, whose smiles embodied the enthusiasm of our team. The distribution, led by Dr. Saha and Shrinjoy Chatterjee, a young member of the SIGHT committee, reinforced the energy and commitment to humanitarian outreach through microwave and RF technologies. ?? Call for Humanitarian Project Proposals: IEEE MTT-S, AP-S & HTB ?? The IEEE Microwave Theory & Technology Society (MTT-S), in collaboration with the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) and the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Board (Tech4Good program), is pleased to announce a call for proposals for humanitarian projects designed to address pressing societal challenges. ?? Grant Amount: $3,000 - $6,000?? ?? Eligibility: Active IEEE AP-S or MTT-S members?? ?? Proposal Submission Period: 15 August – 1 October?? ?? Project Duration: Up to 6 months Awards ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 will be granted to selected proposals that present a compelling six-month plan to deploy a technical solution within the AP-S and MTT-S fields of expertise. The selected projects must commence within the same calendar year in which the grant is awarded, addressing a pressing need in a local community or organization, and demonstrating a clear humanitarian focus while adhering to all relevant safety and legal standards. We are thrilled to announce the successful inauguration of two smart classrooms in August, marking significant milestones in our mission to enhance education through technology. On August 15, 2024, we inaugurated a smart classroom at Tarapur Anchalik Vivekanand Vidyalaya, with the esteemed presence of Dr. Chinmoy Saha and the Head Master, Manoj Sir. The event was followed by vibrant cultural performances and a remarkable display of student projects, showcasing their creativity and dedication. Following this, on August 17, 2024, we inaugurated the 10th smart classroom under the IEEE MTT-S SIGHT (Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology) initiative at the Ramkrishna Mission Calcutta Students' Home. This event was honored by the presence of Dr. Goutam Chattopadhyay, Dr. Chinmoy Saha, Dr. K.N. Siddiqui, and Ekvratananda ji Maharaj. This initiative, led by IEEE MTT-S SIGHT, is aimed at enriching the educational experience by providing students with access to a wide array of lecture videos and live sessions with professors worldwide ??. Performances from students and gurus further enriched the inaugural ceremony.
