During #BurnAwarenessWeek, we honor the incredible resilience of burn survivors like Turia, whose journey reminds us of the profound impact of tissue donation. After being caught in a grass fire while running an ultra-marathon in 2011, Turia suffered life-threatening burns. Turia’s surgeons searched the globe for the donor skin needed to save her. Thanks to the generosity of American donors, she received the gift that turned her fight around.
