Congratulations to NASA and Lockheed Martin ?? NASA’s X-59 Quesst, a supersonic experimental plane, has reached a major milestone by successfully testing the engine and afterburner with the ground crew in Palmdale, CA. Bringing it closer to an actual test flight scheduled for the early part of 2025. The X-59 plane is designed to be a quiet supersonic plane, with the goal of making commercial supersonic flight over land possible one day. The engine produces up to 22K pounds of thrust to reach Mach 1.4 (925 MPH). Unlocking the potential to fly from NYC to London in 3.5 hours.
