Are you interested in an apprenticeship in the construction industry or pre-apprenticeship training? This Thursday, November 16, MTA Construction & Development is hosting an informational event at the Rockaway YMCA from 3pm – 6pm. This event is in partnership with the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York (BCTC), the Apprenticeship Readiness Collective (ARC), and NYC Workforce1. At the event, you’ll learn about: - Pathways into the unionized construction industry for New York State residents from BCTC - How to qualify for construction industry pre-apprenticeship training and direct entry access to unionized apprenticeship programs from ARC - Free services that help New Yorkers prepare for and find jobs from NYC Workforce1 - Local hiring from contractor Schiavone for the Rockaway Resiliency Project - Civil service opportunities with the MTA - How?Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (M/W/DBEs), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOB), and small businesses can do business with the MTA Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma, or equivalency - 18+ Years Old - Able to perform physical work - Legally eligible to work in the United States - Committed to a clean and sober environment Registration is encouraged and can be completed here: https://lnkd.in/ereAynA5 #constructionindustry #constructionjobs #apprenticeship
