  • Congratulations to September’s Employee of the Month, Joe Higginbotham! As a pharmacy and supplies technician, Joe assists with drug distribution to patients, procurement and the receipt, storage and distribution of materials. Joe’s nominators described him as “a quick study and conscientious worker who often has his ever-growing notepad of tips, tricks and processes close at hand.” Joe’s “positive attitude and professionalism” helps the pharmacy and materials departments run more effectively. Thank you, Joe!

  • Today kicks off National Surgical Technologists Week (September 15-21). Surgical technologists play a vital role in making sure that surgeries proceed safely and effectively, by supporting surgeons as members of the operating team. A surgical technologist needs to be able to anticipate the surgeon’s actions, with knowledge of hundreds of procedures. They also are responsible for ensuring that the operating room is safe, that equipment functions properly, and they handle a wide array of surgical implements. Join us in thanking our surgical technologists for all they do.
