Bear POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Work, Education and Resilience) at Missouri State University is a two-year, five-semester inclusive college program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or IDD. The program was created to offer a post-secondary education opportunity to students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) transitioning out of high school. The Bear POWER mission is: “To effectively utilize existing campus and community resources to create an inclusive academic college program that generates individual outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities in the areas of education and employment.”

We are SO PROUD of our Cohort 3 Graduates! These students came to Missouri State University and accomplished so much in their five semesters on campus. Exceled in their college-level courses within their emphasis (e.g. Child and Family Development, Information Technology, and Audio Sound), lived independently on campus, joined clubs/organizations, and had paid competitive internships! These students broke barriers and stereotypes and we are so proud of them. Go forth Cohort 3 - the world is yours and you all are going to shine! #thinkcollege #inclusive #highereducation
