On May 7, 2025 the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will require Real ID to pass through security at airports across the nation, including Charleston International Airport . It means that you will need the new format State Issued drivers license or identification card that meets the new criteria. A federally issued identification such as a passport will also suffice. Exciting news! After a successful first season, Air Canada's nonstop route between Charleston and Toronto returns on March 30, 2025—and demand is stronger than ever. Last year, over 20,000 passengers took advantage of the connection, many continuing on to destinations like Athens, Tokyo, Rome and Copenhagen. This year, service will operate Thursday through Monday to match peak travel demand, and Air Canada is increasing efforts to bring more Canadian travelers to the Lowcountry.
