On Saturday, March 8th, we welcomed 60 young people from NYC local schools including LGBTQ+ schools and community-based organizations, for Saturday at Sinai! During the event, participants engaged in an exciting ambulance tour led by Mount Sinai paramedic Joshua Kimbrell and a hands-on workshop using doctor kits to practice vital signs screenings led by Icahn Mount Sinai Stonewall Alliance medical student Phoebe May. Additionally, participants heard from a panel of Mount Sinai providers and administrators — including Michael Cruz, Alyxandra Ramsay, M.A.Ed., Dr. Eric Kutscher, MD, MSc., Shawn Lee, and Sophie Szew — who discussed unique career pathways in health care. Participants expressed that they learned a lot and are inspired to pursue careers in health care. Many are looking forward to participating next year!

The Asian Resource Network Employee Resource Group wishes all who celebrate a joyous and colorful Holi! Holi—also known as the Festival of Colors—marks the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and the power of love and unity. It is a time for joy, forgiveness, and new beginnings, celebrated with lively music, dancing, and the playful throwing of colored powder, or "gulal." The gulal represents the colors of spring, renewal, and the victory of light over darkness, with each hue carrying deeper significance. May this Holi bring happiness, positivity, and bright moments to your life! #HappyHoli #FestivalOfColors #Holi2025 #JoyAndUnity #SpringFestival

Did you know that in the U.S., nearly 1 in 4 teens and 1 in 3 adults have difficulty accessing period products, lacking the resources needed for healthy, safe, and dignified menstrual management? To address this need, the Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) Site Engagement Council held a Period Poverty Product drive, collecting 78 packages of period products through generous donations. On Friday, January 31, these products were donated to Pride for Youth (PFY) in Bellmore, NY, advancing health outcomes in the surrounding community. Special thanks to everyone who contributed to the cause, especially Council Co-Chairs, Claire Joseph and Janice Campbell; Damian Becker, MSSN Manager of Public Relations; and Ema Clarke, PFY! ??
