关于我们
The M.S. in Computational Analysis & Public Policy (MSCAPP) is a rigorous, two-year program offered jointly by the Harris School of Public Policy and the Department of Computer Science at The University of Chicago. The curriculum builds foundational knowledge of computer science, statistics, and public policy analysis. Students then go on to advanced coursework in econometrics, machine learning, big data methods, data visualization, and application development, all while learning how to apply these skills in the policy realm. MSCAPP graduates have become civic technologists, data scientists, and policy researchers bringing modern technology to bear on the societal problems that matter most. So excited to share this case study from the National Math Improvement Project showcasing our Middle Grades Algebra work! - In 2020, Chicago Public Schools established goals for students and educators that would foster a strong, positive math identity and increase access to advanced math courses. The district sharpened its focus on algebra readiness: ensuring students are prepared to succeed on their first try as well as building educators’ instructional proficiency, content knowledge, and assessment skills. As a result, each year schools identify more algebra-ready students, the Algebra I passing rate continues to climb, and more teachers receive their Algebra credential. Learn more about Chicago’s successful efforts to remove barriers to Algebra I in the latest NMIP report, “From Gatekeeper to Gateway: Creating More Paths to Algebra I Success.” #K12education #MathPolicy #doMath Chicago Public Schools Corey Morrison, EdD https://lnkd.in/eF42QZAm
