As we round out #NationalSurveyorsWeek for 2025, we leave you with a "farewell, winter — hello, spring" photo courtesy of Senior Project Surveyor Scott Olson. This was taken while locating a creek in Silver Bay, Minnesota, on the north shore of Lake Superior as part of a plat project for the community. What a beautiful and serene shot! If this Surveyors Week celebration has piqued your interest in surveying services or career opportunities at MSA, give us a shout! https://www.msa-ps.com/

#SurveySays: When you actually DO spot a big buck but don't get your camera out in time, you improvise! The life of an MSA surveyor includes all sorts of adventures ... time to commune with nature while getting the job done. Thanks to Senior Project Surveyor John Dewey in our Des Moines, Iowa, office for the good chuckle here during #SurveyorsWeek2025! To learn more about John's recent projects, check out this photogrammetric survey he conducted for Dana Colbert Park in Savoy Illinois: https://bit.ly/4bL2N9T

#SurveySays: Drone-assist LiDAR surveys are an incredible way to capture data in challenging locations! Senior Project Surveyor Emily Pierce needed to collect surface information for a deep ravine with steep embankments and a river bottom in Osceola, Wisconsin. She served as pilot-in-command to fly the site with a drone and conduct a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) survey to collect data and accurately depict topographic features from which to create a surface model. Cool stuff! #SurveyorsWeek2025 #NationalSurveyorsWeek

#SurveySays: this gig can be really amusing! A few years back, Senior Project Surveyor Scott Olson captured this shot on a late-day project at Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee, Minnesota --- locating the limits of existing water slides for proposed improvements to the park. #SurveyorsWeek2025

Survey Says --- you're looking at an award-winning plat from this year's Wisconsin Surveyor Institute plat contest! MSA Survey Technician II Sasha Schallert in our Baraboo office submitted a plat she developed for a subdivision and earned 2nd place for her efforts! Indeed, our surveying professionals are involved in all sorts of projects --- in the field, the office, and within a variety of industry organizations. Congratulations! #SurveyorsWeek2025

Survey Says? This profession places team members in weather extremes! From the blizzards of winter to mosquito season and the dog days of summer, MSA surveyors and survey technicians tackle any task for our clients, such as performing survey for the reconstruction of County Highway M in Rusk County, WI. Thanks to MSA Survey Tech Austin Mohr from our Marshfield office for the great pic! #SurveyorsWeek2025 #SurveySays

Hey surveyors! Recognize this? This is what is commonly referred to as a "spinner." Here, a property monument has developed a bend over time, requiring the surveyor to uncover it deep enough to get it to spin and then do so until the center is determined — the point where the monument is unbent and pointing straight down. Only by spinning can you get a truly accurate location. Tricks of the trade, thanks to MSA Senior Project Surveyor John Dewey, PLS! #SurveyorsWeek2025
