MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Alyssa Haley, our newest Audiology trainer! Based in San Diego, CA, Alyssa worked in private practice and ENT offices before starting with MRG in July 2022. She has learned that a little bit of kindness goes a long way when interacting with Veterans, and she finds it fascinating to hear their stories and experiences. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys hiking with her dogs. She’s also on a mission to find the best tacos in San Diego! Congratulations on your new role, Alyssa! MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Sarah Filer! Dr. Sarah Filer has worked for MRG Exams since February 2023. Before joining the MRG team, she was an audiologist for 13+ years in various hospital and clinic settings. She loves having a consistent schedule that allows adequate time to see Veterans and appreciates the network of support that MRG provides. Sarah has learned a lot about military culture and how it has changed over the years. She has also learned a lot about the resources available to help Veterans get the help and support they need. She notes that being sensitive and compassionate is essential, as Veterans revisiting events that have caused noise exposure can be traumatic. Knowing how to take in these stories without letting them overwhelm you is important for avoiding compassion fatigue. To recharge, she enjoys biking, kayaking, and caring for her zoo of animals with her husband and 10-year-old son. She also plays the oboe in a community orchestra. MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Dr. Yuen and Dr. Tsang! Dr. Yuen and Dr. Tsang work for MRG in Las Vegas, and they have been married for nearly 7 years. Dr. Yuen is an Optometrist, and Dr. Tsang is a Dentist. They appreciate how much Veterans have sacrificed, which inspires them to document their cases thoroughly and carefully. They also love getting to know the Veterans and hearing all their stories. In their free time, Dr. Yuen and Dr. Tsang enjoy spending time with their two goldendoodles. As a Navy Veteran himself, Dr. Tsang enjoys connecting with Veterans from all military branches, and Dr. Yuen enjoys the flexibility provided in her role with MRG.

MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Willette England! Willette works in our San Diego office. She has always had a passion for the medical field, working as a CNA right out of high school, and then working her way up to becoming a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. Willette has learned a lot from this position, honing her assessment skills and gaining experience researching Medical Opinions. She is dedicated to preparing and completing her assessments, ensuring the best outcomes possible. Willette appreciates all of the support offered by MRG, she can always reach out and know that her issues will be heard. Willet recharges by laughing, and then laughing some more. MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Whitney Scurlock! Since February 2022, Whitney has worked in MRG’s Grand Junction, CO office. Prior to working with MRG, she worked in neurology for about 9 years. In this position, Whitney has learned more about presumptive conditions and how to use different tools in her exams. At MRG, she values the work-life balance and having the time to complete all of her notes. She expresses gratitude for working with Veterans, finding it fulfilling and a significant aspect of her experience with MRG. To recharge, Whitney walks her dog and does yoga. She has been in the medical field for many years, working as an RN in almost every specialty before becoming an FNP. In this position, Susan has learned that actively listening to a Veteran can make a huge difference in the overall experience. She has been most surprised by how appreciative the Veterans are, and she is consistently identified as a standout practitioner by Veterans surveyed after their exams. She loves gardening and prioritizes movement through walks, swimming, and bicycling to recharge. Susan appreciates that MRG positions practitioners for success through mentorship and training resources. MRG's Provider Spotlight is shining on Michele Archambeault, PsyD! Dr. Archambeault received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. Her clinical work has previously included both inpatient and outpatient therapy and psychological assessments, as well as working on research with the LA VA. We have been lucky to have Michele working with MRG in our Yucca Valley office since November of 2022. Michele’s favorite part about working with MRG is the ability to help Veterans through the process and the positivity of her coworkers. She is always amazed by how resilient the Veterans are and what they have gone through. To recharge, she loves golfing as a family, and attending her son’s golf tournaments, including the US Kids Golf World Championships She has learned that it is important to acknowledge that most Veterans have a hard time being vulnerable.
