  • We'd like to recognize two of our staff members, Mitch Coffman and Jeff Hon, for their 20 years of service at MPW. Thank you both for all your hard work over the years! Their thoughts on working at MPW: Jeff Hon: "MPW is the only engineering firm I’ve ever worked for, and the majority of my electrical design knowledge is due to the engineers that I have been surrounded by. I’ve never had to go anywhere else in search of more experience. " Something I believe in, “New does not always equal better”. Mitch Coffman: “I like working here. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have stayed so long."

  • As summer is coming to an end, so did our time with our summer mechanical intern, Spencer Holman. We asked him about how he decided to go into mechanical engineering and his time here at MPW. We wish him all the luck in his upcoming junior year at The University of Oklahoma in Norman!

We are pleased to announce that Matt Trinsey has been named Associate Principal. He joined our ownership team this past January 1st. ? Matt came to MPW Engineering in 2012 and is the Refrigeration team leader. The Refrigeration team at MPW operates across multiple time zones, collaborating on all aspects of the projects. The members of the team have a wide range of expertise, from extensive field experience to proficiency in design and development of control system configurations and sequences. ? The MPW Refrigeration team maintains strong client relationships by means of thorough communication.??Early input into a project's design is imperative for ensuring its overall success and timely completion.?Matt actively participates in client design collectives, where on many occasions, his input has helped set the direction of their program that is applied over many facility locations. ? Matt is a 2008 graduate of Temple University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. ? His selection of Mechanical Engineering as a profession dates back to high school. “During my high school years, I had the privilege of being taught by a physics teacher who had previously worked as a Mechanical Engineer. His passion for the subject ignited my interest in engineering. However, it wasn't until I entered college and was exposed to a course on applied principles of HVAC and thermodynamics that I truly grasped the career path that I wanted to pursue.” ? The reason Trinsey decided to focus more on Refrigeration as compared to the other areas of Mechanical Engineering, is because refrigeration systems are deeply rooted in the principles of thermodynamics and heat transfer. Having an understanding of these concepts is essential for the design of efficient and reliable refrigeration systems.?Considering the widespread demand for refrigeration around the world, innovations in refrigeration technology have a significant global impact. Some of the biggest changes he’s seen during his time in the industry have been conventional systems with mechanical control being replaced by loop systems with electronic control.?Additionally the industry is continually moving toward the use of natural refrigerants and secondary fluids to reduce the environmental footprint. Matt lives in Pennsylvania and is located in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Congratulations Matt! We look forward to continuing to have Refrigeration Engineering as a specialty discipline under your leadership as well as all of the other areas where you contribute.?
