857 Fifth Avenue, constructed in 1963, has been the residence of Finland’s Consuls General in NYC since the mid-60s. The Government of Finland owns the Consul General’s apartment. This morning, I was happy to take part in a visit to the building by Ian Rowburrey, Ian Motley and Julia Cyr from Miller Proctor Nickolas, Inc., which represents Oilon Oilon US Inc., the Finnish family-owned global energy and environmental technology company renowned not only for advanced R&D but also high quality. Also present was U.S. country manager Kim Ojanne from Rototec, the market-leading provider of geothermal solutions and a driven pioneer from Finland. Welcomed by Resident Manager Jimmy Joe McGurl, the visitors looked into the possibility of taking the building’s heating system to the next level and helping shareholders save some serious cash. Let’s hope 857 Fifth Avenue can be turned by Oilon and Rototec into a showcase of Finnish ingenuity, quality and value for money!
