It is extremely meaningful to MPLD to be on a team that is transforming a previously blighted, and abandoned site in the North End community of West Palm Beach that has famously faced great neglect in recent decades. Well, no more. We are finally going vertical on our fabulous District at Northwood!
This dynamic mixed-use project will offer 382 apartments, 63,200 square feet of commercial space, and around 13,000 square feet of public areas across 4.7 acres. Anchored by a six-story main building atop a three-story podium, the development will feature 321 apartments, 54,800 square feet of commercial space, and garages for the entire project. A smaller, four-story building will house 39 apartments and 5,200 square feet of commercial space, connected via a pedestrian overpass. To complement the neighboring historic district, the third building will stand four stories tall, with a tapered design that reduces the height to three stories. It will comprise 22 apartments, 3,200 square feet of commercial space, and glass-enclosed ground-floor commercial areas that rise 25 feet to promote walkability. Enhancing the area's appeal, Northwood Road and 24th Street will be transformed into public open spaces and pedestrian paseos.
