?????? ?????????????? ??????’?? ?????? As many DEI programs and resources are cut, it's important to keep speaking up. The argument for removing these programs is that without them we would naturally have a "Merit-Based" system. You don't have to be a data professional to know that the following statistics are not based on merit. ?????? ???????????? ?????? ???? ???????????????????? ? ?????????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?? ?????? ???? ?????????? ???? ???????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ??????????????????. ? Only 86 women are promoted to manager for every 100 men in tech roles ? Women of color are significantly underrepresented in tech, with only 3%??identifying as Black and 1.7% as Latinx. ???????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ? ?????????? ???? ???????????????????? ???????? ???????? ????% ???? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???? ??????, (while earning a higher share of Master's Level and Doctoral Level degrees.) ? Men and Women have similar work completion rates (66%) of all work assigned. However women are assigned 10% more work on average than men in similar roles. ? Women are more often tasked with "non-promotable work" than men, work that benefits an organization but does not provide an increase in pay or title. ?????????????????? ???????????????????? ? Over 50% of women in tech report facing harassment and sexism, underscoring the need for safer, more inclusive work environments. ? More than 54% of women have reported experiencing gender discrimination in the workplace in some form, examples include: ? Being passed over for important assignments ? Treated as incompetent because of their gender ? Experiencing repeated small slights at work (like being cut off while speaking in meetings, or not being taken seriously) ? Having to "prove" themselves by being over qualified compared to males in similar roles ? Not given credit for their work ?
