At Moxair, we are developing systems that convert methane into carbon dioxide and water -- greatly reducing the climate impact of coal, dairy barns, and oil & gas fields. We do this by drawing ventilation air methane (VAM) into our reactors, which we run at low temperature. We then introduce the air to a bed of catalyst – a porous, dry clay. The catalyst converts the methane to carbon dioxide, and releases methane-free air on the other side. Developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with support from ARPA-E, we're working as fast as we can to get our solutions out there. If we do, we could help avoid up to 0.5°C of expected global temperature rise in our lifetimes. Interested in learning more about methane and what we're doing at Moxair to reduce it? Scalable methane emissions reduction technologies to reduce planetary warming
关于我们
Methane is responsible for ~30% of the planetary warming we experience today. While it is short-lived in the atmosphere, it is far more potent while alive than carbon dioxide: around 85x more. At Moxair, we are developing systems that convert methane into carbon dioxide and water using our proprietary catalysts and reactors -- greatly reducing the emissions impact of coal mining, dairy production, and oil & gas operations.
