Our March Volunteer of the Month is Raymond Lewis! Since 2023, Raymond has been a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer, spreading kindness by delivering lunchtime meals and AniMeals. ?? Raymond first learned about Meals on Wheels through National Public Radio (NPR) and a magazine article. After reading about the organization's impact, he knew he wanted to volunteer. "The assistance Meals on Wheels provides for those in need throughout the San Antonio area communities as a non-profit is a huge challenge. I just could not pass up the opportunity to volunteer some of my free time to help this generous organization deliver healthy meals to seniors and pet food to those with pets." His favorite part of volunteering is getting to meet clients across different parts of San Antonio, hearing their stories, seeing the excitement of pets recognizing their monthly AniMeals delivery, and feeling the heartfelt gratitude from those he delivers to. He once brought his daughter along to deliver meals, and she shared her experience with a friend who eventually became a volunteer. Seeing the ripple effect of giving back, he encourages anyone with time to volunteer and experience the impact firsthand. Thank you, Raymond, for helping us deliver #MoreThanAMeal and for your dedication to making a difference in the lives of others! ??
