Say NO to HB3! ??? ???After waiting a grueling 14 hours to testify, our very own MOVE Texas Regional Organizer and former school teacher, Ashley Carden, took the mic to speak out against school vouchers. “If we truly want the best for Texas students, teachers, and communities, then we must invest in our public schools, rather than shifting funds to private entities.” ??Every student deserves a well-rounded curriculum that nurtures their imagination and freedom to learn. Most Texans agree—our kids should have the resources to pursue their dreams, no matter their skin color, zip code, or family income. It’s time to invest in every public school and every child’s future. #NoOnHB3 #FundPublicSchools #schoolvouchers

February may have been short, but it was mighty!??? ?? We kicked off our?Artist in Residence program, welcoming?two incredible junior artists, two superbly talented senior artists-in-residence, and an amazing content creator!?We can’t wait to showcase their work over the next few months. ?? Meanwhile, from?Houston to Laredo, our field organizers have been holding it down—tabling on campuses, hosting movement meetings, and sparking conversations about the power of local action. With the?Youth Capitol Takeover?on the horizon, they’re making sure young people are ready to show up and shake things up! ?? Our?advocacy team?also launched?digital advocacy trainings?as part of the?Anti-Lege Lege Club, breaking down everything from testifying at the Capitol to meeting with reps, all the tools you need to be a total badass advocate! And to wrap it all up, we’re thrilled to feature the work of our talented?Artist-in-Residence, Gaby Tijerina—because we’re using?every?tool in our arsenal to make an impact. ?? March is set to be even busier, and we’ll be back with more updates soon. Stay tuned!

The MOVE Texas Advocacy team spent the day at the Capitol talking with legislators about the policy outcomes that young Texans want to see! We’ll know that when democracy functions as promised, lawmakers and communities are collaborators. Our team will be all around Austin to ensure the 89th Texas Legislature is an avenue for protecting and expanding the rights and opportunities of our communities, not diminishing them. POV: You just wrapped up the most wholesome art fellowship ever. ??? Artists from all over the state came together, and let us tell you—it wasn’t just about the art (though it slayed). It was about community, sharing ideas, and straight-up hyping each other up ?? You could def feel the love and creativity in the room. This is what it’s all about—connecting, growing, and celebrating the joy of creating. Big love to our 2024 MOVE Texas Artist fellow cohort for making this magic happen. Cheers to more art walks and even bigger vibes ahead! ?? #ArtCommunity #FellowshipVibes #CreativeJourney
