Move For Hunger is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to communities in need. As you may be aware, many people throw out a good deal of “stuff” when they move. Unfortunately, a lot of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. That’s where we come in! Move For Hunger teams up with professional moving companies, corporate housing providers, relocation management companies, and multifamily apartment communities across the U.S. & Canada to rescue unopened, non-perishable food items from people moving and deliver it to local food banks. In addition to collecting food from people who are moving to new homes, Move For Hunger helps companies and individuals across the United States and Canada organize thousands of successful food drives and employee engagement events each year. Since its founding in 2009, Move For Hunger has delivered more than 32 million pounds of food - that's 26.5 million meals - to food banks and pantries nationwide.

?? Community of the Month: November 2024 ?? This Thanksgiving, we’re celebrating The Residences at Annapolis Junction for their dedication to fighting hunger. Located in Annapolis Junction, MD, they went above and beyond, collecting 1,993 lbs of food — providing approximately 1,661 meals to those facing hunger. This isn’t their first time stepping up. Over September, their Olympics-themed food drive brought neighbors together in a fun, competitive, and impactful way, showcasing the creative ways communities can make a difference. ?? Making a Difference, One Meal Kit at a Time! Hosted at Caesars Palace and supported by the incredible teams at National Van Lines, Champion Movers, and our headlining sponsor, Reindeer Logistics, we came together to pack 350 meal kits for families in need. We delivered all the goods to Three Square Food Bank to be distributed to neighbors in need. A huge thank you to everyone who packed, planned, and participated.
