Xheme, a leading materials science company located in the?Mount Ida Campus Innovation & Collaboration Space (ICS), announced last month that the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, Inc., manager of the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory, has awarded a spaceflight opportunity for its proposal “Programmable Future of Plastics and Coatings: Building Terrestrial and Extraterrestrial Innovation Loop.” This award was in response to the ISS National Lab Sustainability Challenge:?Beyond Plastics, a collaboration with global prestige beauty brand Estée Lauder. https://lnkd.in/dNv26iat

Last semester, I truly had an incredible experience balancing an internship at a psychiatric facility with my coursework. This semester pushed me to grow both academically and professionally, deepening my understanding of mental health care in a hands-on setting. I spent the last 9+ months working closely with RNs and also got to see the role that Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners play in inpatient care settings. Grateful for the lessons, the mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way. A special thank you to the Associate Provost for UMass Academic Programs and my advisor, Christina Metevier, who connected me to this experience and made it all possible! As a final project, I created a poster showcasing my experiences and learnings from my internship. I had the opportunity to present it at the Mount Ida campus of UMass Amherst. It was a great way to share what I learned and engage with others passionate about the field. Here are some photos of the Fall 2024 semester poster expo at Mount Ida. We had a great turnout at the Boston-Area Internship Fair, hosted on the Mount Ida Campus over winter break! More than 300 University of Massachusetts Amherst students networked with more than 45 employers offering summer internships and fall co-ops. The fair also gives students the opportunity to see the campus, where we offer summer housing to students who secure an internship in the Boston area.
