We’re thrilled to share that Mount Grace has helped the Hains family protect 72 acres of fields and forest on their fifth-generation Fox Hill Farm in Orange! For Lottie Hains, who has lived on East Road in Orange her whole life, preserving the farm was deeply personal: “I wanted to be able to protect it so no more development could happen, and for forestry, water, and wildlife.” This land conservation effort: ? Protects vital agricultural land ?? ? Protects land along the West Brook, a tributary of the Millers River ?? ? Supports native fish, floodplains, and clean water ?? ? Expands a 700+ acre network of protected land ?? A big thank you to Sarah Wells and the Hains family for making this all possible ??

Mount Grace, along with an incredible cohort of conservation partners, joined Congressman Jim McGovern last week to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The LWCF stands as one of the most impactful and enduring environmental programs in the United States. Over the years, grants from the LWCF and its affiliated programs have allowed Mount Grace to: -Protect over 9,000 acres of working and natural landscapes. -Add more than $11,000,000 to our region’s economy through expanded outdoor recreation. -Help 80 families preserve their legacy by protecting the land they love. So thrilled to be at Honest Weight Artisan Brewing in Orange, MA today to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust and Quabbin Harvest! One of the main reasons this co-op is essential is that it’s not just about selling food, it’s about local access. Over the years, they have constantly looked for ways to increase services and make local, nutritious food more accessible. Congratulations on achieving this milestone and I can’t wait for the next ten years!

Collaborating with valued partners like Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust?and Executive Director Emma Ellsworth is how we’re able to leverage our 30x30 Catalyst Fund to help protect more than 800 acres in Barre, Mass., known as Hawes Hill. It’s also a ton of fun and super rewarding to work with partners to get big things accomplished. The protection of this beautiful landscape full of wildlife habitat, carbon-rich forests, and streams full of crystal-clear water is also connected to thousands of acres of adjacent conservation land. #landconservation #naturebasedclimatesolutions #wildlifeprotection https://lnkd.in/ear54ks2
