Mount Alvernia High School is an all girls high school in the Franciscan Tradition from grades 7-12 located in Newton, Massachusetts. At Mount Alvernia High School, your daughter is MAHS. From the moment she walks onto campus, she becomes a member of our small, tight knit community. She is known and loved. It is not just our size that sets us apart. Every day, girls – just like her – explore their interests through academics, sport and cocurricular activities. She will be encouraged, nurtured and challenged to become the young woman who she was created to be. When a student graduates from Mount Alvernia, she has not simply completed a rigorous academic curriculum. She has gained the skills to tackle challenges in college and out in the world. She is a scholar aware of her intellectual achievements. Yet, she is curious to learn more. She has developed into a responsible member of a community. The lessons your daughter learned in the classroom are reinforced on the playing field. Those friendships formed at the lunch table are bonds that last a lifetime. Our students graduate prepared to live in the world outside 790 Centre Street, filled with confidence in themselves and hope for the future.
