For us at Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) what’s next is anti-drunk driving technology that will save 10,000 lives a year because of the mandate stemming from the HALT Act. A long awaited update on the Justin Timberlake DWI case: Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is deeply disappointed to learn that Justin Timberlake was reportedly granted a plea deal in his alleged DWI arrest. MADD does not support plea deals in cases involving impaired driving, as we believe justice should be fully served for such a serious crime. Driving while impaired is a dangerous and reckless choice that puts lives at risk, and the consequences should reflect the gravity of that decision. Plea deals diminish the severity of impaired driving, which is a violent crime that kills and injures thousands of people every year. ? MADD has asked for Mr. Timberlake to do the right thing by using his significant platform to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and help prevent this crime. Though it has been reported that Mr. Timberlake will produce a PSA with MADD, we have not been formally contacted by his representatives. MADD will continue to advocate for justice and accountability in every impaired driving case, and we hope Timberlake’s future decisions reflect the seriousness of this issue and contribute meaningfully to our cause. #BreakingNews #JustinTimberlake #DWI

MADD is devastated and appalled by the alleged drunk driving crash that killed 31-year-old Pro NHL player Johnny Gaudreau and his 29-year-old brother Matthew Gaudreau on August 29. Johnny, a beloved winger for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Matthew were struck by an alleged drunk driver while riding their bicycles in New Jersey. The Gaudreau brothers, both New Jersey natives, were in town to celebrate their sister’s wedding, where they were to serve as groomsmen on Friday in Philadelphia. The driver who hit the brothers, 43-year-old Sean Higgins, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The key to eliminating this 100% preventable crime lies in lifesaving anti-drunk driving auto technology.
