We are so grateful for our ongoing partnership with Boston Children's Hospital to bring the Science, Technology, Education and Healthcare Careers camp to our 7th and 8th graders for the third year in a row! Our students engaged in hands-on simulations, workshops, and mentorship from 49 dedicated staff members across 7 departments at the hospital, including students from Harvard Medical School ?? We’d like to extend a special thank you to Izabela C Leahy, Althea Hankey, Crystal Pesqueira, Lucy Zhao, Jamie DeCaro, Cer.A.T.T., and Jaronid J. for their dedication to our students and to growing this program’s impact year after year. In addition to our amazing alumni community, we're excited to shine the spotlight on our dedicated staff and faculty that bring the MCA mission to life. Today we're kicking off the series with Mr. Squires! For over a decade, Mr. Squires has been a constant source of wisdom, support, and encouragement at MCA. As our longest-tenured teacher, he is a pillar of our community—someone students can always count on for guidance in the classroom and words of wisdom each morning in chapel. Alumni love returning to see that he’s still here, shaping the next generation with the same care and commitment that they remember. Thank you, Mr. Squires, for all you do for our students! ?

Game day is back at MCA! For the first time since before the pandemic, our basketball team hit the court earlier this week in a game against Epiphany School. While the scoreboard didn’t go our way, our students showed incredible teamwork, determination, and heart. ? They’ve been working hard in practice, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they played together as a team. This is just the beginning—go MCA! Huge thank you to class of 2004 alumni, Jo Gomes, and MCA staff member, Denisha James, for your hard work coaching and leading the team over the last months! We're also immensely grateful to the Hazard Family for supporting MCA in obtaining brand new basketball uniforms for the students! Thank you to the team at Boston Children's Hospital Izabela C Leahy Althea King Hankey for providing this amazing opportunity for our 8th graders to get CPR and First Aid certified earlier this year! They had an amazing time at the Hospital and are ready to make a difference with these new skills ??

While we technically celebrated 100 days of school last week, we held off until this week to officially celebrate as a community. From students to centenarians, the MCA community had a blast dressing up as 100-year-olds to celebrate the 100th day of school! #100DaysSmarter

A huge thank you once again to our incredible partner, Storytime Crafts! A few weeks ago, we picked up a generous donations of books, winter clothes, and school supplies from them—just in time for the season. But they didn’t stop there! Before December break, Storytime Crafts filled our Winter Wonderland with games, books, art kits, jewelry kits, and so much more, ensuring that every student could fill a bag with gifts for themselves or a loved one. We are so grateful for their ongoing support, always keeping our students in mind and providing what we need most. Thank you, Storytime Crafts, for spreading joy and making a difference!
