We're #Hiring a Curriculum Coordinator! The Curriculum Coordinator is a grant funded – joint position between the Museum of the Cherokee People and Great Smoky Mountains National Park to work on educational projects that will impact both organizations through Cherokee-centric curriculum and teacher resource development. The Curriculum Specialist will develop K-12 Cherokee curriculum and resources for an accessible online format, plan special educational events, and assist with the development of educational exhibitions. This position will be housed with the Museum of the Cherokee People within the Division of Education and will interact heavily with the education staff in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Museum of the Cherokee People staff are home and reflecting on last week's Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums' annual conference. Held in Palm Springs, California on the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation, #ATALM2024 saw over 1,700 tribal museum professionals gathering to connect and share ideas under the theme of 'Sovereign Futures: Weaving Tradition and Innovation.' Members of MotCP's Operations and Collections divisions presented sessions on how they have utilized institutional resources to empower Indigenous creatives and harnessed design for community engagement. Sgi to the ATALM team, Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, and all who made this year's conference possible. Museum of the Cherokee People is hiring for multiple full and part-time roles. The Manager of Development will provide structure to MotCP’s Development arm including but not limited to fundraising, donor development, membership, etc. The Curriculum Coordinator is a grant-funded joint position between the Museum of the Cherokee People and Great Smoky Mountains National Park to work on educational projects that will impact both organizations through Cherokee-centric curriculum and teacher resource development. The Front Line Lead Associate will be responsible for supervision of all Front Line Associates, fulfillment of Webstore orders and ensuring a positive guest experience when visiting and/or interacting with MotCP. The Front Line Associate will serve the visitors to the Museum in both the Museum Store and the Box Office. As the primary ambassadors of the Museum, they will represent the Museum in a professional and helpful manner.
