Our current customers are equipment manufacturers in the commercial, aerospace, medical, oil tool, and semiconductor industries. We crafted this aerospace part from forged 4140 steel for a fluid motion control application, using a combination of milling, heat-treating, and grinding processes. The challenge with this part came from the complex dimensions, which were based on several planes at varying angles. To tackle this, we utilized our horizontal milling center, programming it from the centerline of rotation to accommodate the different datums. Our lead programmer handled everything from programming to fixturing and initial setup. At Moseys, our programmers often design, program, and build their own fixturing, and for especially tricky parts, they take charge of the initial run setup. Curious about our work?
