It's been inspiring to see the outpouring of love, compassion, and renewed commitment to the work from our grantee partner and funder communities as we all process the implications of the election for the environmental movement. The numerous pro-climate ballot measures that passed in red and blue states across the country remind us that environmental issues can transcend political divisions. https://lnkd.in/gz4F-b6v? Broad swaths of Americans care about clean air, clean water, and a safe and healthy climate for our communities to thrive.?Now more than ever is the time to build bridges across difference to both protect and continue building on the gains we've worked so hard for. Mosaic will continue supporting and resourcing the connective tissue that helps advocates come together across issues, geographies and demographics as a powerful force for change.?

There is no doubt about it - building powerful, influential movements hinges on collaboration and connection! Mosaic is proud to create space for our grantees to collaborate, problem solve and share learnings and resources. Last week, dozens of leaders from across the country engaged in conversations around mobilizing and coordinating networks and organizations to ensure that communities are ready and activated around federal climate opportunities, land protection, environmental health and justice. We’re grateful to support such an inspiring community of change-makers! #Collaboration #Networking #ClimateAction #MovementBuilding #EnvironmentalLeadership GreenLatinos, Alianza Nacional de Campesinas , Center for Rural Affairs, EarthShare, People's Solar Energy Fund, @Water Wise Gulf South, Climate XChange, Friends of the Chicago River, Midwest Climate Collaborative, Michigan Climate Action Network, Midwest Environmental Justice Network, National Partnership for New Americans, Climate and Community Institute, Coming Clean, Southeast Climate & Energy Network, @Texas Youth Power Alliance, Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC), Energy Alabama, Mississippi River Network, Iowa Environmental Council, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice

Ben Gose shares five great tips for organizations to get started on scenario planning for the election in this piece from The Chronicle of Philanthropy. As a funder dedicated to movement building, we’ll add a sixth: Think about ways to support the expanded capacity and connectivity groups will need to align their agendas and mobilize people and resources at scale – either to protect the progress of the last four years or build on it. “[People] will be looking for somewhere to put their energy,” Mosaic Executive Director Eva Hernandez, told Gose. “We want to ensure that organizations and networks are prepared to absorb and train and mobilize potentially huge numbers of people.” https://lnkd.in/etG3qmu9

Last week, Mosaic's Program Manager, Moriah Jacobs, attended the "New Era, New Leaders: 5 Years to 30x30" conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, hosted by America the Beautiful for All Coalition. The Coalition is uniting land, freshwater, and ocean advocates and activists who reflect the diversity of the U.S. and territories to meet the goal of 30x30 in a way that reflects the promise of Justice40. The convening provided an opportunity for folks to connect and share stories, discuss effective ways to build power, share learnings, align goals, dance and much more! "I am grateful to have been a part of this inaugural convening and energized by the passion and commitment of this coalition working to center equity and justice in conservation work across the country. Together they’re building more influence and boosting the collective power of the coalition’s shared goals to hold decision-makers accountable in their commitments.”??– Moriah, Mosaic Thank you to the leadership of Mark Maga?a and Nsedu Witherspoon, the Coalition's backbone team and participants for an amazing few days that reinforced the importance of collective action that will drive our work in the years ahead. We’re thrilled to support ATB4A! #AmericatheBeautifulforAll #NewEraNewLeadersConference

Our thoughts go out to the communities and families across the Southeast that have been devastated by Hurricane Helene. The widespread damage underscores the urgent need for coordinated response and recovery efforts in these hardest-hit areas. The Southeast Climate & Energy Network (SCEN) is on the ground, mobilizing resources to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery support. They are delivering essential supplies and support services to storm-impacted communities, ensuring the swift and effective allocation of resources through their network, and offering technical assistance for long-term recovery focused on sustainability and equity. Please read more about their efforts and support them however you can below. Your donation will directly aid those in need and help SCEN build stronger, more resilient communities. As Hurricane Milton ascends on Florida, we are ever grateful for the powerful work of the community groups leading many of the efforts on the ground. https://www.scen-us.org/

"Mosaic plays a unique role in supporting grantees doing the work to bridge across differences - grantees who are building and supporting powerful coalitions and breaking down competition to achieve the big wins we need to see. We model that through our own Leadership council - comprised of a significant and diverse segment of leadership of the environmental movement."- Eva Hernandez, Mosaic's Executive Director A quick update from the Environmental Grantmakers Association Conference in Washington State! Last evening, we hosted a stunning reception above the Columbia River Gorge. Mosaic Leadership Council member Rashad Morris opened the evening with remarks on Mosaic's vision, mission, and founding principles. Our new Executive Director,?Eva Hernandez, delivered a talk on Mosaic’s main priorities and invited others to join us in our mission to build a stronger more influential environmental movement. Jason Morris of the Pisces Foundation followed with remarks on why they invest in Mosaic through both funding and direct engagement. The event sparked many inspiring conversations about movement building across the environmental field, Mosaic's focus. We're thrilled to be sharing about this work! #EGAretreat #MovementBuilding #ClimateAction
