According to the CDC, construction and extraction workers have the highest suicide rates among all U.S. occupations. The demanding nature of the work, coupled with factors like job insecurity and financial pressures, can significantly impact mental well-being. This week, we’re breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasizing the importance of reaching out for support when needed. Each day, we’ll be highlighting crucial resources and information to help you and your colleagues navigate mental health challenges. Today, we’re introducing the Suicide and Crisis Hotline number—988—a lifeline for those in crisis. Remember, suicide prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Eye-Opening CDC Statistics: ? Construction workers face significantly higher suicide risks compared to the general public. ? The construction industry ranks second in U.S. suicide rates, and mining extraction workers being the highest. ? For every suicide, there are about 20 attempts. It’s okay not to be okay. Morrow Meadows is proud to have contributed to the Neurocrine Biosciences campus, one of San Diego's largest life science facilities ??. The campus includes four buildings and a Central Utility Plant (CUP). Our team handled the tenant improvement of Building 1 and Building 2, as well as the Core & Shell and TI of Building 3 and Building 4. The newly constructed buildings feature a laboratories, and additional office spaces, all supported by a 2MW generator for emergency backup power ?.
