关于我们

Established in 1973, Morris Arts is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of engaging and building communities through the arts. MORRIS ARTS' guiding principles include the belief that the arts are vital to the social fabric and economic prosperity of the area, act as a catalyst for social change, and enrich the lives of everyone in the community. Our varied programs and services serve to inspire, connect and engage. They include arts education programs for children in grades K-12, the creation of innovative community-building arts events, including concerts, gallery walks and public art exhibits, and support of area artists and arts organizations through funding, advocacy and professional development. A passionate champion and advocate of the arts, Morris Arts’ goal is to create more livable, vibrant and sustainable communities. We achieve this by serving the community with: ? Arts in Education programs – we provide a multitude of resources to schools which enables them to bring curriculum-based arts programming to their students. ? Community Arts Events – as a central resource for arts in the area, we are committed to making our county more livable by providing free and affordable concerts/performances and art exhibits for diverse audiences of all ages. ? Support of Local Artists and Arts Organizations – we provide them with opportunities for exhibitions, performances, workshops, networking, funding and awards. ? Arts Advocacy – we take a leadership role in advocating for the arts, including supporting arts organizations, cultivating relationships that encourage support for the arts, promoting the arts, and celebrating those that have made an impact through the arts. We are absolutely delighted to introduce our 2025 Local Arts Grantees! Each year, we regrant state funds to organizations across Morris County that offer our community artistically excellent arts events and experiences. Our Local Arts Grants Program supports more than 1,500 arts activities and programs that serve over 100,000 children and adults annually. This time, we granted a total of $120,000 to 36 different organizations across Morris County, and we can’t wait to see the incredible work they do over the next year! Follow them on social media or find them online to stay up to date on the incredible events and programs they offer our community. This program is made possible by funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

A huge THANK YOU to everybody who came out yesterday for Pumpkin Illumination ?? We had an amazing crowd and a gorgeous day to enjoy the arts and celebrate fall as a community! We would like to thank Kit's Interactive Theatre for an absolutely captivating performance, and Dan Fenelon for leading the art workshops and providing the colorful masks and skeletons that help bring this event to life. We'd also like to thank the incredible volunteers who helped make the day a resounding success. And of course, special thanks to Mondelēz International, TeamLogic IT, The Artist Baker, and CertaPro Painters? of Morristown for graciously sponsoring Pumpkin Illumination 2024. Additionally, thank you to the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for helping to make funding for this event possible!

We’d like to offer our most heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Lynn Siebert on her retirement from Morris Arts! Lynn’s vision, insights, and artistry have fueled our organization for 44 years – almost since our inception. She served on our board from 1979 to 2002 and was a staff member from 2002 to 2023. Lynn began her time on staff as Communications Director, but her responsibilities quickly expanded to include overseeing art exhibitions at our galleries and managing artistic programming for events like First Night Morris. She is someone who excels at, is passionate about, and has devoted her life to the arts. In addition to her passion for the arts, Lynn is also an environmental activist who has championed many initiatives that have protected the environment around Morristown. In honor of Lynn’s unwavering dedication to both nature and the arts, we planted a beautiful white oak tree at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in her name. Yesterday, we gathered to see the tree and celebrate Lynn’s immeasurable impact on our community. Thank you, Lynn for everything ?? Your dedication to building community through the arts is truly unmatched.

We recognize the transformative power of arts education in helping young people develop critical thinking, creativity, and emotional resilience. We applaud Morris Arts for their commitment to bringing high-quality arts programming into local schools and communities, helping students unlock their full potential. The organization’s?Artist Residency Program?brings professional artists into 30 Morris County schools, working directly with nearly 4,000 students on long-term creative projects. These residencies, which can span two to six weeks, immerse students in hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences, including visual arts, music, poetry, theater, dance, and more. By collaborating with artists, students refine their technical skills and develop a deeper understanding of the creative process. The program has been instrumental in helping students build confidence and discover their artistic potential. We're proud to partner with Morris Arts in their mission to ensure that all students have access to the arts as a critical component of a well-rounded education.
