This is a tragic situation, to say the least—as is any disabling event. At such a young age, most people don’t even think about disability insurance, except perhaps if it’s offered through the workplace. As we posted earlier this month, May is disability insurance awareness month in the industry. We respectfully offer the view that there are many situations in which DI is crucial to protect an income—even at a young age.
