Yesterday during City Council the Morgantown Police Department welcomed two new officers to our ranks, Officer Clark and Wilson! Both of these officers took their oath of office and made a promise to serve and protect our community during the meeting and will be completing the remainder of their trainings in the coming months. We're happy to have both of these new members join the department.

The Morgantown Police Department is working to identify the individuals in these photos. They are persons of interest in an incident that occurred downtown on March 8th around 3:15 a.m. Anyone with information on the identities of those pictured, please call the MPD Detective Division at 304-284-7454.

From March 24th - 27th, the Morgantown Police Dept. will be hosting a force-on-force instructor certification course in conjunction with the J. Harris Academy of Police Training. This 4-day course prepares our next generation of law enforcement leaders to take command of their first-line supervision responsibilities. The West Virginia University Army ROTC will be conducting training on Tuesday, March 4 from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the Mon River Trail. The group will begin at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park, walk 4 miles toward Sabraton, and return. We'd like to notify the public in advance that the group will be carrying prop rifles for drill purposes only; they will neither be armed nor dangerous. Please keep this in mind. Thank you!

They are persons of interest in a robbery & malicious assault which occurred at Casa D'amici on February 9th around 3:15 a.m. Anyone who captured photos and/or videos of the incident is asked to send copies to [email protected].
