The Branch District Library Bookmobile was delivered in Coldwater, Michigan. The Morgan Olson ROUTE STAR bookmobile was built at our Sturgis, Michigan manufacturing facility. Over the next couple of months, the library staff will be loading the new vehicle with books and resources that they’ll be taking on the road to schools, events, and all over the service area. The Bookmobile is expected to hold about 2,000 items when it hits the road. It will provide a collection of library materials available for check out to under-served communities in Branch County. The Bookmobile project was supported by the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club, the Branch County Community foundation and Coldwater Solar/Apex Clean Energy. The Salvation Army's promise to "Do the Most Good" is a commitment to serving people and Morgan Olson’s commitment to community support built this Food Delivery Route Star step van that was on display in Dearborn, Michigan during last week’s 38th annual Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club Radiothon. This collaborative project involved Morgan Olson, Ford Pro Philanthropy and Embassy Corp (Kitchen Upfitters) to fund, design, build and deliver these Route Star step vans to the Salvation Army. These Bed & Bread Step vans serve meals seven days a week, 365 days a year. Nearly 1.4 million meals annually. That’s nearly 4,300 meals each day. These meals are often the only thing some people get to eat. Hunger and homelessness do not take a day off. The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread program provides food and shelter to metro Detroiters every single day of the year, This year’s goal is to raise $1.2 million dollars to help feed and shelter thousands of metro Detroiters throughout the year. Morgan Olson team members donated $179,840.00 to the United Way - two key Morgan Olson team members, Teana Sampson and Adrienne Castle, raised over $40,000.00 during the WBET United Way fundraiser - for perspective, the United Way annual golf outing fundraiser at St. Joe Valley Golf course raised $16,000.00.
