We are thrilled to announce that MHUSD has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Farm to School Incubator program! This funding will help us establish a "farm to school pipeline" in southern Santa Clara County, connecting small, minority-owned farms with our school cafeterias. Key highlights of the project: - Partnering with a BIPOC-led farm to create the FarmTECH Learning Center. - Growing produce for our 13 school cafeterias. - Hands-on outdoor lessons in hydroponics, sustainable farming, and food science. - Field trips to minority, immigrant, and women-owned farms. - A FarmTECH "Nutrition Lab" where students will taste new fruits and veggies and explore global recipes!
