More than two years after Robb Elementary School in Uvalde became the site of Texas’ deadliest school shooting in history, a philanthropic effort kick-started in Fort Worth could imbue new hope into the shattered community. In today’s top story, education reporter Jacob Sanchez details how a fundraising effort to build a new elementary school in Uvalde is nearing completion — and what that could mean for the small city six hours south of Fort Worth. MOREgroup, Huckabee, IEG Innovative Engineering Group, and Skanska worked together on a winning design for this year's Galveston Sandcastle Festival hosted by AIA Houston! Our theme, "The Sandsational Audrey", was a play on the cult classic movie, Little Shop of Horrors and its Broadway counterpart. It was a day of hard work, creativity, great company, great food, and beautiful skies—and most exciting, a win for the team in our category of Nature/Florals/Botanicals. The annual event challenges architecture, engineering, and construction firms to work collaboratively to design and build spectacular sand sculptures. - #morethanaworkplace #aiahouston #architecture #design #texas
