Moore Nanotechnology Systems was established in October 1997 as a stand alone subsidiary of the Moore Tool Company. Our initial vision remains in the continual development of state-of-the-art ultra-precision manufacturing systems and processes for the production of advanced optics. We develop, design and manufacture ultra-precision machining systems for single point diamond turning, deterministic grinding, micro-milling and glass press molding. Our machines are primarily used in the consumer electronics, defense, aerospace, lighting, medical and automotive sectors. We maintain an installed base of hundreds of Nanotech ultra-precision machining systems in many countries around the world and we continue to grow. Above all, we attribute our success to our highly skilled and diversified workforce that shares a passion and common vision for excellence. We remain focused on the continuous development of new products and value-added services to meet the requirements of our current and future customers.     Senior diamond turning tech and apprentice coordinator

    Sharing our success on a very demanding project; this is a 16-sided polygon with extremely tight tolerances that we achieved utilizing the Nanotech 650 FG v2: pyramid succes as follows; 5 arc seconds facet to datum, 1 arc second deviation complete polygon, and 1 arc second facet to facet. All achieved while holding 1/20th wave irregularity( some facets approaching 1/40th wave)and a surface roughness of 30-40angstroms. A great team effort! #SyntecOptics #Nanotech

    Practical Machinist contributor Lead Programmer at Galyon Manufacturing

    How many folks have seen one of these machines? A Moore jig grinder. Decades ago, these machines were the pinnacle of precision. Today, they still are some of the most accurate machines out there. This one was made in 1968, nearly 60 years ago, but it is still among the most precise machines we have. This bearing journal is being ground to a very light press fit on a high-RPM precision bearing.     Last week, 603 OPTX Diamond Turning Technicians, Dylan and Brody, completed the Fundamentals of Ultra Precision Machining course at the Moore Nanotechnology Systems Global Training Center. This program offered an in-depth introduction to ultra-precision diamond machining, covering essential aspects such as machine maintenance, fixturing, and metrology. Dr. Chris Morgan, Ph.D., the Director of Research and Development at Nanotech, will be presenting the latest advancements in Fast Tool Servo technology (Exhibitor Session I:?Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 13:30 – 14:20). Dr. Dhanooj Bobba will be presenting the topic "Precision Glass Molding: Towards a Cost-Efficient Production of Glass Lenses Using a Multi-Cavity Approach." ?? Date: August 22, 2024 ??     Moore Nanotechnology Systems is proud to attend and participate in the 73rd CIRP General Assembly in Thessaloniki, Greece - August 18-24, 2024. This year's distinguished event is proudly hosted by the esteemed Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and brings together approximately 700 experts from academia and industry in the field of production engineering. Dr. Sinan Badrawy, Nanotech’s CTO and Main Technical Representative for CIRP, will be discussing Manufacturing Methods for Ultra-Precision Applications in a technical presentation during the Corporate Members Advisory Group Meeting. Along with Dr. Badrawy, Dr. Matthew Davies, Nanotech’s Director of Applications and Global Training, will also be in attendance at this year’s General Assembly. Dr. Davies has been highly active in the CIRP since 1996, currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the United States Fellows Group and is in his sixth year on the Editorial Committee. The General Assembly encompasses various aspects of production engineering through its Scientific Technical Committees, which includes design methodologies and tools, machines, production processes, life cycle engineering and assembly, precision and metrology, surfaces, and production systems and organizations. Founded in 1951, the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP - College International pour la Recherche en Productique) aims to address issues through scientific international cooperation related to modern production and technology.
