A Year of Progress at Moore & Bruggink (1 of 2) 2024 was a year of remarkable achievements, as we successfully revitalized downtowns and enhanced critical infrastructure across our communities. We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued clients, dedicated contractors, and exceptional teams whose hard work made these projects a resounding success. As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we are actively seeking talented individuals to join our team. We have posted several new positions on our website https://lnkd.in/gG2yhByS, and we encourage qualified personnel to explore these exciting opportunities. Below are some of the key projects that highlighted our 2024 construction season. See post 2 of 2 for 2025 project we are looking forward to. Downtown Zeeland Snowmelt: After 2 years of construction on Main Avenue, Zeeland now has 4?blocks of new sidewalk with integrated snowmelt in the heart of downtown.?This project, completed in 2024, rebuilt the streetscape beautifying the Main Avenue business district along with improving pedestrian safety and accessibility. In addition to the snowmelt, the project included landscaping, street lighting, bulb-outs located at intersections and midblock for traffic calming, enhanced pedestrian cross-walks, storm water quality improvements and 1 mile of road resurfacing. South Lake Lift Station and Prospect Street in the Village of Spring Lake: In 2024, we completed the South Lake Lift Station upgrade and Prospect Street reconstruction as part of the Spring Lake USDA RD-funded utility improvements project. This year, we will continue this vital work with the reconstruction of several streets in the Village of Spring Lake. These projects will involve significant upgrades to water, sanitary, and storm sewer infrastructure. Southern Clinton County Municipal Utilities Authority (SCCMUA) WWTP: Significant progress was made on the improvement to the SCCMUA wastewater treatment plant in 2024. Key milestones included the installation of new influent screening, lift station pumps, a new secondary clarifier mechanism, tertiary filters, and a new UV disinfection building. The project is nearing completion with only the installation of the remaining secondary clarifier mechanism and final electrical work, including a new Kohler generator, scheduled for completion by summer 2025. Community Condos of Lake Odessa: Moore & Bruggink worked with a generous retired couple who saw a need for affordable housing options for retirees within their community. Our development group helped design, permit, and construct Phase I of a multi-phase project in the community and look forward to assisting with upcoming phases as well. #CivilEngineering #ProjectHighlights #WestMichigan #2024 #EnvironmentalEngineering #SiteDevelopment #Municipal #WasteWaterTreatmentFacilities #ProcessDevelopment

M+B is excited to announce a new construction milestone at the Allendale Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF): the successful delivery of a new 750kW Cummins diesel generator! ? The video below (sped up 4x) showcases the transfer of the 26,000-lb generator to a new 33ft x 16ft concrete pad, with guidance on the ground from the Parkway Electric team. A winter storm hit West Michigan on the scheduled delivery day, and despite the poor road conditions and gusty winds, delivery and placement were achieved with only minor delays. ? We are pleased with the continued progress at the Allendale WRRF – so much has been accomplished over the past year! We extend our gratitude to our dedicated team, our valued partners such as Parkway Electric & Communications LLC and RK Davis, and the supportive Allendale Township community for their contributions to the project’s continued progress.

Congratulations to the City of Walker and everyone who travels Bristol Avenue! The long-awaited, reconstructed Bristol Avenue is now open! At M+B, we're fortunate to work on exciting projects, and this one has been particularly rewarding. For the past three years, we've collaborated with the City of Walker to rebuild the Bristol/Pannell intersection, including a brand-new railroad bridge. If you've ever navigated the old intersection, you know the challenges of squeezing under a low, narrow bridge while hoping for no oncoming traffic. The old bridge was a frequent target for taller trucks that misjudged its height. The new bridge is a significant improvement, with a clearance of over 14 feet and enough width to accommodate two lanes of traffic and a pedestrian sidewalk. And for the engineering enthusiasts: The bridge is supported by 76 piles, each 50 feet long, capable of handling up to 200,000 pounds. This impressive strength is essential to support locomotives weighing over 500,000 pounds (or even a fully loaded 747!). To achieve the increased clearance, the train tracks were raised four feet, and the road was lowered 2.5 feet. We're proud to have been part of this transformative project. Check out the news articles for more details on this remarkable achievement. https://lnkd.in/gwVH9iPT https://lnkd.in/gqyuuy9f
