As a Latina entrepreneur and impact investor focused on driving positive change in underserved regions, I seek to generate a positive, measurable impact alongside a financial return. In the context of portfolio diversification, including impact investments can further enhance risk management strategies. By diversifying into impact investments, investors can access opportunities that align with their values while mitigating risk through exposure to different industries, geographies, and business models. My reading of the research from Boston Consulting Group and Cambridge Associates suggests that diversity among asset managers, particularly in terms of gender and ethnicity, can lead to a broader range of investment opportunities. Through Global Development Advisors and Moon Dancer Fund, we are building a portfolio of diverse visionary startups committed to positively impacting their communities. We particularly value women-led companies, recognizing the immense potential for innovation and positive change they bring. This approach benefits our investors and contributes to building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
