A cherished autumn tradition for Moody Neuro’s Tideway long term care facility in Galveston is visiting the local pumpkin patch. This annual seasonal activity brings joy to staff and residents alike each and every year. Residents and staff enjoyed spending time outside picking out and decorating their own pumpkins for display around Tideway. Thank you to everyone who made this outing possible! South Plains Fair 2024 did not disappoint! Clear skies, sunshine, and corndogs! Our patients and staff had a blast exploring exhibits, checking out the animals, and indulging in a few fair treats. These community re-entry activities offer a great opportunity for patients to practice vehicle transfers, ambulate in unstructured environments, and connect with a wider range of people— all while having a great time. The Moody Neuro Space Center team had a fantastic time at our annual fall festival last week! Employees showcased their favorite costumes, and patients enjoyed an array of exciting games and activities. A big thank you to Teagather for serving delicious organic specialty teas to all our guests, and to Metropolitan Chair Massage for providing much-needed relaxation to our employees. We were also delighted by Paige Lewis, who played guitar and sang for our residents and staff. Incredible Cakes and Bakery treated everyone to a beautiful charcuterie board and sweet treats. This year was a special one for Moody Neuro Lubbock as we participated as a display host for the 2024 City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Pumpkin Trail! Patients and staff got creative, carving and decorating 25 pumpkins in a fun Looney Tunes theme. Out of the 1,400 pumpkins placed along the trail, our designs added some unique flair, and seeing everyone’s hard work on display was incredible. At’l Do Farms Corn Maze is a beloved fall tradition for both staff and patients at Moody Neuro Lubbock, and this year was no exception! Everyone enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine while working on functional skills and teamwork. This year was extra special as we made great use of the farm's trailer for a hayride! Patients and therapists practiced climbing stairs, and the wonderful staff assisted with lifting chairs onto the platform. What a fun and rewarding experience we had! A huge thank you to the At’l Do Farms staff for their continued hard work in making this activity possible for our community. Featuring state-of-the-art technology, this 2,117 square foot expansion allows us to treat more patients through our transdisciplinary therapy approach. Our expanded gym now includes the Bioventus Vector System, and we continue to use other advanced technologies such as the Hocoma ArmeoPower, Woodway KineAssist, Restorative Therapies FES Bikes and Simulator Systems International Driving Simulator.
