As we continue to celebrate today (10/28) as National First Responders Day, it is essential we recognized our Public Works Department as first responders. First issued by President George W. Bush in 2003, public works employees are key first responders for not only water main breaks, traffic light outages, but also fires, damage to public property, roadway repairs, snow removal, storm damage, and so much more. Now imagine that it is not just at home but the entire community. October 17 is #ImagineADayWithoutWater, celebrating its 10th year of raising awareness about water's critical role in every aspect of our lives. Thank you to our Water Division, which works hard every day to ensure our water infrastructure is strong, free of pollution, and ready not only for our homes but also for our fire crews to keep us safe and our farmers to irrigate their crops and grow food.
