?? Celebrating Women's History Month: Village Trustee Theresa Sperling! ?? Meet Village Trustee Theresa Sperling, a dedicated leader making a lasting impact on Montgomery! ? More than a Decade of Service—Theresa was appointed to the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals in January 2012. In April 2013, she was sworn in for her first term as Village Trustee and has served our community ever since. ? Proud Achievements—She championed the non-home rule sales tax, improving roads while easing the tax burden for homeowners. She co-founded the Rotary Club of Montgomery, volunteering to bring legacy projects to life, such as the street painting in front of Village Hall, the community garden at Krug Elementary, and the VFW landscaping and sign improvements. As a Trustee, she proudly established the free pantry at Village Hall, which the Rotary Club now maintains. ? Favorite Memory—As principal for the Day at Krug Elementary School, she attended several classes, danced with students, read in classrooms, and met many students for whom English was their second or third language. This experience gave her perspective on the challenges facing teachers and students. ? To the Next Generation – If Theresa could tell the young girls of our community one thing, it would be to "ask questions, listen to different viewpoints, develop your own opinion, and don't be afraid to speak up, especially for those who cannot speak for themselves."
