Montgomery County Food Bank’s 2025 Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala, will take place Saturday, February 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. This year’s gala, titled A Ruby Celebration: 40 Years of Feeding Hope, draws inspiration from the ruby—a symbol of 40th anniversaries—to celebrate the Food Bank’s remarkable four-decade journey. Presented by Huntsman Corporation, the premier fundraising event’s proceeds will benefit the Food Bank and the many children, families and seniors it serves. With the Food Bank’s strong buying and sourcing power, every $1 raised will provide up to 4 meals for those in need in Montgomery County. Volunteer Spotlight: Fortifi Food Processing Solutions ? Fortifi is making a big impact in the world of automated food processing solutions that streamline operations and improve product consistency; helping food manufacturers tackle labor, space, and facility challenges. We were privileged to welcome a small 7-person group of their team to volunteer with us in September of 2024, which quickly grew into a 60-person volunteer group of their nationwide leadership team joining us here at Montgomery County Food Bank last month. ? We thoroughly enjoy collaborating with organizations that share our vision and focuses of innovation, efficiency and safety within the food industry. We’re grateful for their willingness to make an immediate impact at MCFB!?

Volunteering at the Montgomery County Food Bank was a rewarding experience for our greater Houston team! We sorted and packaged 4,665 pounds of food, providing 3,687 meals to those in need. In one of the fastest-growing counties, it’s crucial to support our community through service. Seeing the impact firsthand reinforces the importance of teamwork and compassion. Montgomery County Food Bank has been privileged to partner with Lone Star College to support exciting new student care centers that provide students with access to a range of essential resources to help meet their academic and personal needs. Lone Star College has pantries on their Conroe, Montgomery and Kingwood campuses that combine to serve an average of more than 1,000 clients per month. All three campuses order food from Montgomery County Food Bank to stock their pantries, including the new Coyote Care Center (Lone Star College-Kingwood) and Maverick Care Center (Lone Star College-Montgomery). Both new facilities have refrigeration and freezer storage, which now allow their pantries to distribute fresh produce to students. Additionally, these pantries provide personal care items, casual clothing, counseling services, and technology available for anyone needing to apply for community resources. We are proud to support these incredible care centers that are setting students up for success. By providing nutritious food and essential resources, we’re helping students stay focused on their dreams and build a brighter future. Together, we are truly stronger in the fight against hunger!
