Another National Multifamily Housing Council annual meeting in the books! It was a great conference week in Vegas connecting with so many colleagues across the apartment industry. It's fun to celebrate the wins, but I find the most value in collaborating through challenges like inflation, regulatory risk, insurance coverage, labor, debt markets, deal flow, and the list goes on from there. Special thanks to Latoya L. and Dan Campbell for programming so many great Emerging Leader offerings. My favorite quote from the week is attributed to StripMallGuy: "We look for old crappy properties we can work hard to make not old and crappy, but priced so we don’t do all that work for free."

We are proud to close out 2024 with another successful acquisition! This past week we closed on Merrydale Meadows - a 1998 built, 19 unit property in prime Marin County! We are excited to breathe new life into this one, right in our very own backyard. As always, this business is a team sport. Montgomery Partners is closing the year with our acquisition of Merrydale Meadows. The property is 10 minutes from our Marin County corporate headquarters and has been well maintained since it was built in 1998. It is essential to vote NO on Prop 33 for the future of housing in California. While the proposition aims to enhance housing affordability, it fails to consider the fundamental economic concepts of supply and demand.
