Last week, two leaders within our HHS team, Deputy Chief Operating Officer Tamra Williams, Ph.D. and Administrator of our Office of Managed Care Solutions LeeAnn Moyer, attended a round table on the future of Medicaid hosted by Rep. Madeleine Dean. They were among healthcare providers, caregivers, advocates, and patients who shared their experiences related to both Medicare and healthcare in general. Medicaid plays a vital role in ensuring access to essential healthcare services for many residents in Montgomery County. It also helps support local programs that address both current and emerging health needs in the community. #HHSMontcoPA #Medicaid

Our Montgomery County, PA Department of Health and Human Services is hosting a Spring Clean Drive to gather donations to help families in need. Your donations of cleaning supplies and toiletries can help low-income families known to HHS program offices. All donations for basic needs are accepted year-round. ?? Hundreds of Montgomery County residents facing eviction are able to stay in their homes thanks to a special program called EPIC (Eviction Prevention and Intervention Coalition). EPIC expands upon the work of Your Way Home, which brings together private and public community partners to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring in Montgomery County.

#HHSMontcoPA Office of Housing & Community Development is initiating planning for the 2025-2029 Five Year Consolidated Plan, the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing, and the 2025 Annual Action Plan as part of its application for funding to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As part of this planning process, we're holding two virtual Public Meetings to provide #MontcoPA residents with info on the application process for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG), the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHARE) and the Homeless Assistance Program (HAP). Meetings will also serve as info gathering sessions on the need for community development, affordable housing, and solving homelessness in Montgomery County. This is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to provide feedback on the needs of low and moderate income residents, to learn about the programs, and to be involved in determining how the County will use the approximately $5.2 million in allocations from HUD to improve our community. The County encourages participation of all its residents, especially the involvement of very low income residents, minorities and non-English speaking persons, and persons with mobility, visual, or hearing impairments. HHS Contract Director?(who also doubles as our Office of Aging Services Contract Manager), Susan Wenrick, was the recipient of the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN) Award.?The?award was presented by the MAHN Board of Directors for Susan’s service as Board Secretary since their inception, 8 years ago!
