This past weekend, on February 8, Monte Jade West Science and Technology Association, in collaboration with SVTA, hosted a fun and mentally stimulating event at Alexander Steakhouse in Cupertino. The highlight of the morning was a dynamic panel discussion on Cross-Generational Entrepreneurship, moderated by Steve Hsia, Co-founder & Chairman of Playnovate and Board Member of Monte Jade West. We were honored to feature three leading figures in the tech industry: Dr. Pehong Chen, Chairman of BroadVision Group; Dr. Hsing Kung, Former Co-Founder of Innolight, Luxnet, SDL, and Pine Photonics; and Mark Lee, CEO & Chief Evangelist of Splashtop. Their combined enterprise value exceeded billions during its peak. Representing three distinct eras of Silicon Valley innovation, our panelists delved into timeless principles of entrepreneurship while exploring how evolving technology and societal shifts are reshaping modern leadership and entrepreneurial journeys. The event turned out fantastic. During our two hours of intense and highly interactive discussion, no one left the room for a bathroom or coffee break. It was a two-hour engaging and emotional conversation about the unwavering passion and hard work of Asian American entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley.

The Monte Jade Executive Social on Saturday, 12/24/2024, at the beautiful Hotel Nia in Menlo Park was a wonderful gathering. The evening was full of laughter and provided a fantastic opportunity to welcome new members into the Monte Jade community. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Monte Jade West and Monte Jade Global hosted delegates from Taiwan Computer Association (TCA) on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The leading industrial organization that hosted COMPUTEX, Asia’s largest ICT show. We enjoyed lunch with sweeping view at Palo Alto Hills Country Club, followed by fun karaoke and drinks at board member Steve Hsia’s house. "Enduring Legacy” was the theme for Monte Jade Science & Technology Association Annual Luncheon yesterday at the Menlo Circus Club — which marked the last event this year as we wrap up 2024. Beautiful setting and fantastic turnout of sponsors, former and current Board members, speakers, volunteers and friends and family of Monte Jade across generations! The fireside chat moderated by our Board member and Chair of MJAA mentorship program Julie Huang with our former Chairs Ed Yang & David Jeng brought out the history of Monte Jade and the cross generational transition and challenges as we evolve to stay relevant to our community and members. This dynamic and heartwarming conversation representing the past, current and future generations of MJW reminds us how important it is to appreciate what each generations can bring to the table, the importance of communication, and stay generous (大方）！ As we wrap up 2024, we are grateful for all our current Board members and committee leaders, support and encouragement from the former Boards, volunteers, friends and family and sponsors. We are humbled by the passion it takes to run a non-profit organization and thankful for those of you who remain constant to our community!

?? What an incredible day at the Monte Jade West AI Summit! ?? Held at the beautiful Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club, today’s event brought together a great network of passionate technology and business leaders, showcasing some of the brightest minds in the industry. Brandon Wang, VP at Synopsys, moderated a dynamic discussion on AI and Technology featuring Achin Bhowmik, CTO of Starkey and Stanford Professor, Wen H. Hsieh, Ph.D., Founding Managing Partner at Matter Venture Partners, Jay Lee, Clark Distinguished Chair Professor and Director of the Industrial AI Center at the University of Maryland, and Wei Li, VP of Intel and Head of AI software. The AI and Investment panel, led by Robert Fan, SVP Global Sales at Silicon Motion and President of SMI USA, included insights from Steve Fu, Partner at Celesta Capital, Shaun Johnson, Founding Partner at AIXVenture, Simon Lancaster ????????????, General Partner and Founder of Omni Venture Labs, Marco Marinucci, Co-founder and Partner at Essentia Venture, and Chris Yeh, Founding Partner of Blitzscaling Venture. The discussions were informative, entertaining, and electrifying! There’s nothing quite like having a candid group of panelists (yes, one even came up from the audience!) sharing real-world insights on the transformative power of AI. Big thanks to John Chen, Corporate VP of Nvidia, for adding a few artistic strokes to the event! As our chairwoman, Nana Tseng, said, "Human connections are the real highlight of any event—AI or not!"
