Yesterday, at the Black Girl Ventures Pull Up and Pitch with Omi Bell and her amazing team, I received funding for my business and made valuable connections!???? Counting my blessings, I realize I’ve now connected with four incredible women in the chemical industry on my journey—Camille Smith , Stephanie Brandford , Kritika Jha , and Jamila Asha G. . I’m grateful for these connections, knowing they’re helping me build a powerful circle of support and partnership. I also pray that more women are inspired to explore the depths of what STEM has to offer, so we can grow and thrive together. My hope is that someday people will stop saying I’m the first minority woman in the chemical industry they’ve met—because there will be so many of us making our mark. I am filled with so much gratitude after participating in the Minority Made to Wear Runway Show! This incredible event gave me a great opportunity to showcase what local entrepreneurs like Monneah’s Engineered Materials are doing, and I was honored to feature our innovative lab coats alongside products by fellow minority manufacturers! Presented by the MBDA Baltimore Business Center and the Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy and Development, the event was an amazing platform to connect with key players in the manufacturing industry while enjoying networking over refreshments. I am beyond excited and blessed to be in these rooms, sharing my vision and growing MEMs. This was another pivotal moment in my entrepreneurial journey, and I can’t wait for what’s next. Not only did we showcase our lab coats, but it was also a significant step toward expanding customer acquisitions as we prepare to launch our pilot program in Q1 2025! Our Gala truly brought together a community dedicated to solving problems, driving innovation, and supporting our mission. From scientists and engineers to supporters, each of you played a vital role in helping us take significant steps toward creating sustainable PPE solutions for the scientific community.
