Please join us in congratulating our Captain of the Danish trading floors on his 20-year milestone! Casper Vig Frederiksen?joined Monjasa as employee number 7 and we now celebrate him as our first Monjasa 20-year jubilarian – aside from our co-founder and Group CEO,?Anders ?stergaard, of course :-)? In 2005, Monjasa was a small company operating for three years out of a modest office in Kolding, Denmark. And as our first ever trainee, Casper took on a variety of tasks, from handling inquiries to shopping and setting up lunch. Over the years, he has develop into an invaluable part of?Monjasa,?progressing from trainee to Sales Manager to his current role as Trading Director for Northwest Europe. ? Casper is known for never accepting the status quo. Over the years he has serviced an impressive portfolio of shipowners by?identifying niche markets and specialising in back-to-back trading. In his role he oversees all trading activities in Denmark and his daily commitment and personal style are unmistakable - always ready to loudly guide, provide support and motivate colleagues around him. ? In 2015, Casper was interviewed for Danish maritime magazine,?S?fart, and jokingly told that: “we’ve agreed that we’ll be buried here – and now we are trying to convince the boss to give us a Hollywood star with our names on the pavement.” ? It might not be on the pavement, but nonetheless….the first (and last) personal parking space at our office in Fredericia now awaits you, Casper! ? We look forward to many more years together! ? #anniversary #shipping #trading?

We have completed our first offshore operations in #Brazil with Subsea Integration Alliance partners OneSubsea and Subsea7! ? On 24 February, our local team in Rio de Janeiro successfully delivered Low Sulfur Marine Gas Oil (LSMGO) to the three vessels, Boka Sweeper, Boka Defender and Boka Keeper located 170 nautical miles off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. ? Entering this new market involved additional chartering of a dedicated offshore supply vessel to perform the fuel deliveries: ? “Offshore operations are challenging and surrounded by a high level of complexity. We are able to arrange these deliveries thanks to our expert in-house colleagues supporting us across Operations, HSEQ, Legal and Shipping to ensure seamless and safe supply operations for everyone involved,” says Senior Trader, Aline Vaz.?? ? “This is an exciting milestone for Monjasa in Brazil and entering this market brought many new learnings for our team. We are looking forward to continuing this new service for our offshore customers in Rio de Janeiro and beyond,” Trader, Wilson Nobre, adds. ? We established our Rio de Janeiro office and barge operation in 2022 as part of our Americas region and in close collaboration with our existing office locations in Panama, Houston and New York City. ? #offshore #shipping

New fleet shapes and forms! We are pleased to share images of our LBV Green Zeebrugge (108m and 5,000 cubic metres) and FSU Shandong Juniper (290m and 130,000 cubic metres) during their first ship-to-ship operation in the United Arab Emirates. “Following our first successful cruise line supplies in Dubai, the next step is to cover all UAE ports, where we see a demand for LNG bunkering,” says Casper Borgen, Trading Director Middle East & Africa. Our two most recent fleet members, which store the cargo at an ultra-low temperature of -162 degrees Celsius, are equally important in tying together our logistics and supply. As such, most LNG loading terminals are designed for larger gas carriers only and at the same time, we need the flexibility of the smaller supply tanker to go alongside customer vessels to perform the deliveries.? Looking at GHG emissions, LNG produces 20% less CO2 than oil and is an accessible option for shipowners to comply with the increasing shipping regulations, Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and the annual operational Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII). A hearty wish for fair winds and following seas to all crew members onboard our new LNG fleet! #LNG #shipping #maritime?

Please join us in congratulating Jose Angel Arauz on his 10-year milestone! Before joining us as our first Operator in #Panama, Jose worked onboard bunker barges, performing the very deliveries he would later manage. Today, he serves as Operations Senior Manager, leading a team of eight Operators. Jose has been a driving force in establishing our physical operations in Panama, Colombia, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, and our recently established offshore operation in the U.S. Gulf. His ambitions shine through in every challenge he faces, including expanding our Panama Canal operation from two barges to the current setup of a total of seven tankers and barges and 150+ deliveries monthly. His direct communication style makes him a key player in any office discussion, and his lively personality ensures that his grand entrance to the office each morning is impossible to miss. But to get the full picture of Jose, you need to appreciate his strong love for music. This means that when he is not managing ship-to-ship operations, he is spinning records and turning tables as a DJ. Sometimes, he even takes over the office playlist, much to everyone’s delight – or occasional surprise. Jose, our journey in the Americas would not have been the same without you. We look forward to many more years together! #anniversary #personalbusiness

This month we are celebrating Senior Trader,?Charles Dai Hao 戴浩, on his 10 years in Monjasa! ? Based in Singapore, Charles has evolved from Trader, to Specialist, and now takes on the role as Senior Trader serving a diverse portfolio of customers not only in Asia, but across Monjasa supply locations such as Panama and West Africa too. Throughout this decade, Charles has been exemplifying our core values and earning deep respect for his integrity – internally as well as among our shipping partners. ? He never raises his voice, even in stressful situations, and his cool appearance is a calming influence on the entire team. His steady hand and reliable nature have made him an indispensable part of our operations in Singapore and a cherished colleague in the office. ? But it’s not all bunker trading, Charles often leaves his colleagues in the dust during friendly table tennis competitions. They can rarely keep up with his lightning-fast reflexes and strategic plays, making him the reigning champion by a landslide! ? So, thank you, Charles, for being a vital part of Monjasa's journey in Asia and beyond. We are looking forward to many more years together! ? #anniversary #personalbusiness #shipping

“I feel proud to be paving the way for more women to enter this industry, and it is incredibly empowering. While it comes with its challenges, I believe that being a woman in this space is a symbol of progress and equality.” ? Fatima Al Zaabi has been working as a cadet onboard both Monjasa Server and Monjasa Shaker in the UAE as part of her practical training. ? From a young age, Fatima has been fascinated by the sea. Growing up, this fascination only grew stronger and eventually sparked an interest for a career in the maritime world. ? ”The perception that this is a male-dominated field can be intimidating. But with support and encouragement, these barriers can be broken,” she concludes. ? Fatima is part of the first batch of cadets embarking on a new career in shipping through the partnership between Monjasa and the Sharjah Maritime Academy. This year, she will graduate with her fellow maritime students. Warmest wishes on your future endeavours, Fatima - and thanks for sharing your story! ? You can find this and other personal stories in the Monjasa Yearbook 2025, which is available on our website.?? ? #personalbusiness #shipping #yearbook?

As the first marine fuels supplier, Monjasa is making #biofuels available in the Panama Canal! ? “Introducing biofuels to #Panama has been a slower process compared to major shipping hubs like Singapore or Rotterdam, primarily due to challenges with local feedstock and customer commitments. However, we have now developed a viable strategy with one of our longstanding business partners to bring our product from Europe,” our General Manager, Latin America, Jonas Bruslund tells Ship & Bunker. ? The product is an ISCC-certified B30 Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) blend with an initial supply capacity of approx. 5,000 to 7,000 metric tonnes monthly. “As we enter 2025, we anticipate a rising demand for biofuels driven by regulations such as CII and Fuel EU Maritime.” ? “The Panama Canal authorities have a strong agenda to push these green initiatives, and we are very proud to play an active role in that." ? Overall, we believe that introducing low-carbon fuels in Panama will not only benefit the decarbonisation of #shipping but also heighten the overall attractiveness of the Panama Canal for?the benefit of global trade, the local shipping community and Panama as a whole. ?
