Tomorrow, February 01, I start 3 months of paternity leave! Our daughter is due the following week. I am beyond excited to meet her and am so grateful that my partner and I get this time to spend with her and focus on our family. My colleagues at Money Positive Co-op made this possible with their support for our parental leave policy. All families should have such generous leave available! It will be the first time in a decade I don't have a calendar full of meetings. Personally, I am looking forward to the time to reflect and focus on my family. To me it is exciting for the team because they will have a chance to grow and learn as they lead the company. It feels good being confident going into my leave. Its a big task and our incredible team of cooperators and our friends are stepping up to not just cover for me but keep the business growing and evolving. Thank you to Kelly Bethke for stepping up as CEO, Nieves Montemayor, MBA running our grant project, Kate Herrmann, member alum Kavita Koppa and Annie Son, and so importantly our financial coaches Jordan Taylor and Monifa Kelly who are stepping up in a big way. Rachel Simone Weil helped with the transition but big coincidence is taking off the same time as me. And I'm grateful to friends of the co-op Sarah Grant, Milad Taghehchian, CPA, CFP(R), Jan Huff, John Porterfield who are stepping in to help. I am looking forward to some "quiet" time with my family and then coming back to see what the team has been up to!
