In a hugely exciting step in our journey to introduce more sustainable packaging in the UK, we’re pleased to announce that from 2025 our Cadbury core sharing bars will be wrapped in 80% certified recycled plastic packaging!?? Partnering with Amcor and Jindal Films we will use advanced recycling technology to allocate the equivalent of ~600 tonnes of post-consumer recycled plastic to package ~300 million Cadbury sharing bars in the UK and Ireland each year. ?? We’re delighted to have the support of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with Circular Economy Minister Mary Creagh CBE MP? stating: “We support bold action by businesses like Mondelez to increase the recycled content of their packaging. This Government is focused on moving towards a zero-waste economy where we keep our resources in use for longer, accelerate the path to net zero and increase investment in critical infrastructure and green jobs". ?? As part of OREO's relaunch in Europe, which introduced a newly crafted recipe and visual identity across the region, our teams in Spain and Portugal created a bold communication campaign titled 'Goodbye, Spain' and 'Goodbye, Portugal' to generate conversation and curiosity among consumers. The campaign came to life on October 1st, when our well-known OREO bid farewell to these countries in multiple ads and banners across some of the major Spanish and Portuguese cities, and went viral in less than 24 hours. After a few days and thousands of reactions, our teams updated the visuals and finally revealed the mystery, proudly sharing the news of the renovation of our iconic cookie, which now has more cocoa and an intense and balanced flavor that will continue to conquer many generations! Bravo to our teams in Spain and Portugal for generating such a unique buzz to support the launch of the tastiest OREO ever made!??
