From the soccer field to leading in wellness, Jordan Roseboro has never shied away from a challenge. Now, she opens up about the moments that tested her, the lessons that shaped her leadership, and the advice she’d give to any woman stepping into the world of health and wellness. Balancing Career and Well-Being Working in wellness doesn’t automatically mean your own health stays front and center. “It’s easy to pour energy into helping others while neglecting yourself,” Jordan admits. “But I’ve learned that leading by example is essential—not just for credibility, but for sustainability.” For her, balance means practicing what she preaches. “Setting boundaries, listening to my body, prioritizing rest just as much as movement—it’s all part of the process. Some days work takes precedence, other days I need to step back and recharge. The key is staying mindful and intentional.” Overcoming Challenges and Stereotypes From a young age, Jordan learned what it meant to prove herself. “Growing up playing soccer against boys, I wasn’t always passed the ball. If I wanted possession, I had to win it in a tackle, proving that I was at the same level—if not better.” Instead of letting obstacles discourage her, she used them as fuel. “I kept educating myself, building confidence, and proving through action that I belong here. I also leaned into the power of community—supporting other women, breaking down outdated narratives, and leading with knowledge and authenticity.” Advice for Women in Health, Wellness, and Sports Jordan’s message to women looking to build a career in these industries is clear:?Take up space. Trust your voice. Don’t wait for permission. “You might have to prove yourself more than others—but let that push you, not stop you. Know your stuff. Keep learning, get the right certifications, and stay sharp. The more you invest in yourself, the more confidence you’ll have to back it up.” And perhaps most importantly—find your people. “Surround yourself with women who hype you up, challenge you, and remind you that you belong here. A strong network will take you further than you think.” Her final piece of advice? “Practice what you preach. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so take care of yourself too. Lead by example, stay true to who you are, and go all in. You’ve got this.”

Jordan Roseboro, a former professional soccer player and now Director of Operations at Monarch Athletic Clubs, knows what it takes to lead in the health and wellness industry. In honor of International Women’s Month, she reflects on her journey—breaking barriers in sports, proving herself in male-dominated spaces, and inspiring the next generation of women to own their power. Shaping a Career Through Strength and Community “Being a woman in health and wellness has given me a unique perspective—both personally and professionally,” Jordan shares. “I understand the challenges women face, from hormonal health to body image pressures and work-life balance. But more than anything, I’ve seen the power of community and support among women.” Her approach to wellness goes beyond fitness or nutrition—it’s about confidence, self-care, and building sustainable habits. “Every woman’s journey is different, but what remains the same is that strength comes in many forms. Prioritizing well-being isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.” The Defining Moment That Changed Everything For Jordan, a pivotal moment came in her sophomore year of college. “Our coach got fired after the fall season, and when the new coach came in, everything changed. He pushed us harder than we’d ever been pushed before—two-a-days, soccer homework, team standards we had to memorize and be tested on.” But it wasn’t just the physical challenge that shaped her. “He didn’t just break us down—he built us up. He saw the fire inside each of us and didn’t let it burn out—he poured fuel on it. That season changed me. I walked away feeling like I could do anything, on or off the field.” It was then that Jordan realized it was okay to want more. “I learned to embrace that fire inside me instead of fearing it. That lesson has stuck with me ever since.”

Caitlin Herzig is a strength and conditioning coach at Monarch Athletic Clubs in West Hollywood, is no stranger to defying expectations. In honor of International Women’s Month, she shares her journey—from overcoming industry stereotypes to inspiring others through strength training. Breaking Barriers Early in her career, Caitlin was told she wouldn’t make it in sports performance because of her size and appearance. “I was told I was too pretty to work in this field,” she recalls. “That I wouldn’t be able to train guys—NBA players, professional athletes—because of how I looked.” Instead of backing down, she pushed forward, determined to prove that her skill, knowledge, and work ethic mattered more than outdated stereotypes. “I knew I had to be the best I could be—not just to prove them wrong, but for myself. And I did.” The Power of Resilience Another defining moment came with the loss of her mother. “It gave me perspective. I realized I needed to do my best every day—not just for myself, but for her. Her work ethic shaped mine, and every positive thing in my life is because of her.” That relentless drive fuels Caitlin’s coaching philosophy: show up, work hard, and lead by example. Balancing Career, Wellness, and Self-Care “Balancing it all is hard,” she admits. “People depend on you, and you have to be the example. There are days when I’m exhausted, but I know my clients are tired too. And if I expect them to show up, I have to do the same.” That means prioritizing her own health—eating right, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep. “You have to practice what you preach.” Facing and Overcoming Stereotypes As a woman in strength and conditioning, Caitlin has encountered skepticism. “There’s this idea that female trainers aren’t strong enough or won’t push clients as hard. I’ve had to prove myself over and over again.” Despite that, she sees progress. “At Monarch, people try out different trainers, and they see that our coaching styles are different, but just as effective. I’ve worked at places where men didn’t want to train with women—but here, my schedule is booked out weeks in advance. That shift is happening.” Advice for Women in Health, Wellness, and Sports “Find what truly excites you,” she advises. “I’m passionate about health, wellness, and fitness—especially helping women understand why strength training is important.” She’s dedicated to expanding women’s education in strength and conditioning, taking courses on prenatal fitness, pregnancy, and menopause. “There’s still so much work to do in this field for women, and I want to be part of that change. Strength isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about longevity, about showing up for yourself and your future.” “People underestimate what we can do. But strength training—getting stronger physically and mentally—is empowering. We’re proving, every day, that we belong in this space.” And she’s just getting started.

Kenny Kallen, our Senior Strength Coach at West Hollywood, has had years of experience from coaching youth to helping athletes train for the Olympics. Having built his career in a community-driven and team-oriented environment, these same characteristics were what Kenny searched for in furthering his career, something he found within Monarch. As someone who has coached at every level, Kenny sees the impact of good training and programs, but what often gets overlooked is what truly helps you stay consistent and driven—community. A good community means having people cheering you on through the wins, big or small, and being in your corner every step of your journey. He, like many members in our community, is surrounded by people who truly care on and off the floor and people you never knew you could have a connection with. For Kenny, having multiple people rooting for your success ultimately helps to build habits that last. Our strength team sees firsthand the major progress our members make, from being able to lift more weight to nailing down the perfect form. In Kenny’s experience, it’s not just about building the perfect program but about listening and understanding each member’s needs, comfort levels, and how to build something that they can maintain even outside of the club. The ecosystem we have brought together provides our members a space to feel supported and motivated one that Kenny believes makes all the difference in achieving long-term success

At Monarch, we believe that wellness isn’t just about movement—it’s about giving your body what it needs to thrive. That’s why we’re excited to introduce TONE gummies by Arrae, a creatine supplement designed for daily use, now available at our clubs. A favorite of Ryan M. Greene, D.O., M.S., creatine is one of the most researched and effective supplements for improving strength, recovery, and overall performance. Arrae has made it more accessible and effortless to incorporate into your routine with a thoughtfully formulated gummy that also supports gut health. More than a supplement company, Arrae is a community built on the belief that small, intentional habits lead to lasting wellness. Their founders, Monarch members Siffat Haider and Nishant S., have experienced firsthand the impact of holistic health and are passionate about making high-quality, science-backed supplements part of everyday life. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we partnered with Arrae to bring even more value to our members, sharing their TONE and MB-1 gummies as a gift. This shift towards full-stack wellness destinations is exactly why Monarch has always championed an integrated approach to health. No single modality—whether fitness, recovery, or nutrition—should be the be-all and end-all of wellness. True well-being is the synergy of physical, mental, technological, and community-driven support, all under one roof. At Monarch, we’ve built our ecosystem around this belief, creating a space where performance meets longevity, aesthetics meet function, and health meets innovation. This evolution in the industry isn’t just necessary—it’s long overdue. We’re proud to be part of this change.
Gyms are becoming full-stack wellness destinations. As fitness evolves beyond aesthetics or performance goals, consumers want an all-encompassing experience under one roof. Cardio and strength equipment have become a commodity. More than functional training space and kettlebells, members demand recovery amenities like sauna and cold plunge. Prioritizing preventative health, the Gym-as-Clinic framework we detailed in Issue No. 282 of Fitt Insider has taken hold. Blood tests, hormone optimization, longevity assessments, and doctor visits are bundled into gym memberships. And the shift toward full-stack wellness is accelerating. Life Time Inc. integrated glucose tracking, pickleball, and recovery into athletic country clubs. Love.Life, Equinox, Monarch Athletic Club, and others are unifying fitness and preventative care under one roof. We’re witnessing the convergence of fitness and wellness with healthcare, and it’s just getting started. ??
