Formerly a Top 50 ranked parenting blog, MommyQ has been on hiatus for a bit because...well, er....uhm, parenting got in the way. Yes, I recognize the irony. Plans are in the works to start navigating the wild world of motherhood once again as MommyQ with a new & improved website, fresh content and all sorts of other fun stuff that just hasn't been created yet. Because that's up to me too. Oy vey! AUTISM AWARENESS Over the years, I've stayed true to my commitment of promoting autism awareness through fundraising and writing. I've successfully done that on a local and national level, so I'm hopeful my positive messages are reaching other moms and families that need a bit of inspiration. Everyone had their own unique journey with an autistic child and every path is special in its own way. Be kind to yourself when you encounter the rocky roads. If you stumble, just remember that's a temporary setback. We all face challenges, but we can all work together to overcome them. A strong community that supports its special needs children is perhaps the best safety net of all. SUPPORTING MOMPRENEURS As my children have gotten older, I discovered another meaningful path – helping other moms who are starting their own businesses. I embrace the term mompreneur and use it proudly. The notion of juggling mom life and choosing to add business owner to your world is beyond impressive. Plus, moms who are emerging from the baby years have so many amazing business ideas. Wow. Since my mode of transportation is writing, I use my voice to help promote these moms locally on Lake Travis Lifestyle if they live in the Texas Hill Country (Bee Cave, Lakeway, Spicewood). I'm also creating customized content writing and marketing services specifically for these talented women in business, so I can more moms.
